While reading a newspaper from 1914 (as you do) I came upon this suffragist satirical poem by Alice Duer Miller. It was one of many she wrote under her column in the New York Tribune titled Are Women People?

Miller was a suffragist poet, successful novelist, member of the Algonquin Round Table, honorary editor at The New Yorker, screenwriter, mathematician, , and pal of Babe Ruth, to name a few things. I wrote about her life for The Poetry Foundation, which you can read here.
